Fishing Fire
Music Concert
This year, the
festival will expand with the “Fishing Fire Music Concert” held on the eve of
the Lantern Festival, marking a warm and moving nighttime prelude to the New
Taipei City Religious Festival – Yehliu Harbor Purification Festival. For the
first time, the concert takes place the night before the main festival, with
fishing boats and the coastal scenery serving as a stage backdrop. Amid
twinkling fishing lights and the nighttime harbor, music and artistic
performances will weave together the centuries-old faith culture of the fishing
village with contemporary artistic energy.
As the evening
prelude to the Harbor Purification Festival, the concert will be hosted by
Linda, a popular member of the CPBL Rakuten Girls cheerleading team. A lineup
of diverse performances will take the stage, including Tsai-Yin Hsieh from
Donggang, known as the “Yang Mie Mie Song Queen”; the emerging youth band
GGteens, known for expressing themes of adolescence and self-identity; and
local community performance groups from Wanli. Through a variety of musical
styles and interactive performances, they will showcase the vitality and
richness of harbor culture.
The
Fishing Fire Music Concert is more than a music event—it is a gathering of
culture, allowing the faith, land, and community of Yehliu to continue to be
passed down through music.
